Position Overview:
Creative Minds International Public Charter School (CMIPCS) is currently seeking an experienced, talented, and committed Inclusion Manager. The Inclusion Manager is a foundational part of the CMIPCS leadership team, oversees IEP and 504 plan development and implementation, and helps coordinate services to serve our students with special needs, who make up 22% of the student body.

Position Responsibilities
The Inclusion Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a caseload of special education students and the implementation of their IEP/504 plans in inclusive and pull-out settings. Specifically, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating the implementation of special education/Section 504 programs and services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Providing leadership and supervision to inclusion teachers, supporting and evaluating their performance, and ensuring they adhere to the CMI employee policies.
- Facilitating IEP meetings using a strengths-based and family-centered approach
- Coordinating with student’s special education team to ensure all documents are completed on time (according to state, local, and school policies and procedures) prior to MDT meeting.
- Coordinating with special education team to complete quarterly IEP progress reports and provide quarterly IEP progress reports to parents/guardians.
- Maintaining student files (paper and electronic) according to school and The Office of the State Superintendent for Education (OSSE) standards.
- Providing training and technical assistance to teachers, related service providers, and dedicated aides on all aspects of case management.
- Ensuring IEPs are developmentally appropriate, curriculum/standards-based, strength-based, and relevant to individual students.
- Providing guidance to teachers and support staff, promoting effective teaching strategies and best practices for supporting students with special needs.
- Collaborating with the instructional coaches to support the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), culturally responsive teaching, and other evidence-based practices that support diverse learners.
- Working to maintain LEA tracking and data system that includes: student information related to IEPs, services, service hours, evaluations, MDT referrals, discipline incident reports, etc.
- Supporting the planning and implementation of special education initiatives. Work to integrate new developments, research findings, and best practices into ongoing programs and school initiatives.
- Overseeing special education inventory of equipment/materials.
- Identifying and ensuring the appropriate use of curriculum and school-based assessments to support the academic growth of students with IEPs/504 plans.
- Maintaining a high level of knowledge regarding evolving special education issues, such as changes in federal and local special education policy.
- Facilitating workshops/meetings for parents and identifying resources for parents of students with special needs.
- Effectively communicating to parents and guardians the special education process, including the process for referrals, evaluations, annual IEPs/504 plans, and re-evaluations, as well as parental rights granted by IDEA.
- Connecting with a student’s outside providers, pediatricians, and therapists to support the student’s needs in the classroom.
- Ensuring that services provided by contractual personnel are of high quality and aligned with students’ IEPs/504 plans.
- Collaborating with the School Directors to provide support and guidance to the dedicated aides.
- Collaborating with the Behavior Coaches, School Directors, and service providers to support the implementation of the school’s philosophy and vision based on Conscious Discipline.
- Working with the school administration to promote equity in school discipline.
- Co-coordinating the ESY program.
- Maintaining confidentiality of student records and student information.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of special education and Section 504 programs and services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Coordinating special education transportation services for students with disabilities and overseeing the day-to-day activities and operations for eligible students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will:
- Master's degree in special education or a related education field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special needs, with a strong understanding of federal and state regulations governing special education and Section 504.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills. Prior experience as a special education coordinator is preferred.
- Extensive background knowledge of SEDS (EasyIEP), SLED, TOTE, or other management platforms.
- Knowledge of current research and best practices related to IDEA, Section 504, UDL, specialized instructional techniques, special education administration, and inclusive practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making and program improvement.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
