Job Summary
Dedicated Aides at Creative Minds International provide an inviting, exciting, learning environment for students. They support student engagement in meaningful learning opportunities. Dedicated Aides, under the direction of the Academic Directors, will assist with specialized instruction and related services for students with significant academic deficits and/or emotional disorders, autism, developmental delays in one or more areas, intense behavioral challenges, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attending IEP meetings, related service provider consultation sessions, and meetings with the Special Education Coordinator as needed;
- Attend professional development as offered to support implementation of IEP goals and enhance teaching and learning for assigned student(s)
- Assisting in the implementation of the IEPs and/or behavior intervention plans of their assigned students and remaining with their assigned students for the duration of the school day.
- Tracking academic and/or behavioral data as identified in students’ IEP
- Implementing crisis prevention and maintaining Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence (ABC) data on each incident of
- Collaborating with the teachers to monitor student progress through frequent formal and informal student evaluations recorded in portfolio assessments;
- Using a variety of instructional materials, resources, and experiences to enrich student learning;
- Providing educational opportunities that reflect an understanding of students’ unique sensory and information processing profiles;
- Using appropriate techniques and strategies that promote and enhance creative social-emotional growth, problem-solving and evaluative thinking of students;
- Assisting their assigned students with the performance of daily living skills to include but not limited to eating, dressing, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Communicating effectively with families to support the progress of individual students;
- Using effective, positive, and respectful interpersonal communication skills;
- Establishing positive relationships with colleagues, students, families, and the community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual;
- Assisting their assigned students in the e?ective and e?cient use of technology;
- Assisting their assigned students with safe transitions from one activity to another and one setting to

Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability and experience to engage the interest of school-age children;
- Prior experience in a public or private school, preferably in an urban setting;
- Demonstrated ability to work well with parents;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member;
- Patience, flexibility, and a willingness to take risks;
- Consistent reflection on her/his own teaching practices;
- Experience working with linguistically and ethnically diverse student populations and children with developmental differences;
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and eagerness to learn;
- Demonstrated commitment to the well-being and success of
- High School Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Valid Paraprofessional Certification
- Certified in or eligible for certification in crisis management
- Certified in CPR or eligible for CPR certification
- Previous experience required (previous experience working with students with special needs preferred)
